The Benefits of Investing in a Garage Gym

Many people have various reasons to invest in a space where they can work out at home. For me, as stated before, it was for convenience during the time when my first child was just 2 months old. It allowed me to be present for my wife if she needed me and allowed me the opportunity to hold myself accountable, even if it was just for a few quick sets.

Some of the most common reasons, that I can think of, to start a home or garage gym are:

-Convenience- It’s always there and most importantly… Always OPEN (yea, I’m lookin at you Covid)!

-No crowds. Well, this one is self-explanatory. I don’t know anyone who enjoys waiting for equipment or likes that one dude lurking in the background waiting for you to finish.

-There are no rules. Want to listen to your music on full blast? Have at it! Want to rip your shirt off and flex in the mirror? Sure, why not! Want to curl in the squat rack? Fuck it, go ahead and do it.

-And last but arguably most importantly, no more being subjected to seeing naked dudes or gals in the locker room. I think we all can relate to this one and have a story or two. One that comes to mind, is when my wife told me that she was traumatized seeing a lady sitting completely naked on a commonly used stool blow drying her hair…

By no means is this an exhaustive list but these are the main points that came to mind to me. If you had any thoughts or experiences that you would like to share, please comment below! Next time we will dive in to the basics of a garage gym.

As always, Forge On!
